What do your Tuition Fees include?

College Activity Fee (not Outdoor Education costs).
Tuition - all classroom teaching.
The use of text books which remain the property of the College.
Some additional tuition, if required, in English language and academic skills during your time of study.
A Dean of International Students and support staff who will help you with any problems you may have.
A friendly, personalised college environment where you will feel welcome.
Access to the school gymnasium, library and computer facilities outside lesson times.
Being met at Blenheim Airport or bus terminal if you advise us of your arrival details at least two weeks prior to the date of your arrival.

What is not included in your Tuition Fees?

Education outside the classroom costs, e.g. Outdoor Education, School camps.
Government (national) examination fees (NCEA).
Accommodation and meals.
Personal requirements - such as toiletries.
New Zealand travel costs (internal travel).
Airport escort service.
School Uniform.
Course specific related costs as outlined in the course guides.

Insurance

Most students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit you will be liable for the full costs of the treatment. For this reason it is a condition of enrolment that Travel and Medical Insurance is arranged either independently or by payment to the College.

Fee Protection Policy

Marlborough Boys' College Board of Trustees guarantees that in the unlikely event of Marlborough Boys' College being unable to continue the deliverance of its educational programme a refund of unspent tuition fee will be given.

Refund conditions for Tuition Fees

1.   To be eligible for a refund an application must be made in writing to the Board of Trustees by the parent or legal guardian of the student, stating clearly the reason for withdrawal of the student.

2.   If a withdrawal is made prior to the student arriving in New Zealand a full refund shall be made less a $650.00 administration fee to cover costs incurred by the school.

3.   If your application is made after the start of your course, but before the second half of your course, your fees will be refunded less:

An administration fee of $650.00
Costs to the school already incurred for tuition
Components of the fee already committed for the duration of the course
Payments to the New Zealand Government
Commission payments to agents, if applicable.

4.   If your application is made after the second half of your course, you will not receive a refund except in exceptional circumstances.

5.   In exceptional circumstances, refunds may be granted on compassionate grounds (eg death of a close family member, serious illness, accident). All such refunds will be at the discretion of the Principal and the Board of Trustees.

6.   No refund of unexpended tuition fees will be made when a student does not return to    school for any reason other than serious illness, accident or death of a close family member.

7.   No refund will be made to a student who is expelled from the school by the Board of Trustees.

Refund Conditions for Accommodation

1.   If you move out of your accommodation before the end of your contract the portion of your accommodation not already used will be returned to you.

2.   To have your accommodation fees returned, you must write to the Board of Trustees, two weeks notice is required for homestay. Payment can be made in lieu of notice.

3.   If you cancel your accommodation contract before you move into the accommodation, your fees will be refunded in full less an administration charge of $360.00.
